God Gives

Your being is like a hole
that's been dug so long ago
The perfect shape, so accustomed to my figure
Any interaction of you leads me to despair
Blinding me, seeming subtle
Yet dragging me down so strong
truly your essence slipping into my soul,
mixing with my being,
poison in my veins

The more I slip into you I confuse nostalgia with despair
You drag me to the underworld
The lies your angel of death whispers to me
Confusing blinding lies that I might want you
That I ever wanted you at all

Whispers of "Lia, you want this"

I will lose without you
I will lose with you
I cannot go back in time to never have met you
To be told it is better to love and lose
To believe the best lie this world has ever known

My eyes now open
A chain addicting cycle
the only release all that can be found
Ripping it off the flesh of my heart
Only remedy is to scab over and heal

Your lust, your lies, your hell
Materialistic selfishness
All of you that does not belong to me
I am not of this world
One day I must leave and make it home

Chains won't withstand the strength of my wings
tear off parts of my flesh but I will find redemption
(Fly caught in a web)
(Does once in a while manage an escape)

And if the freedom in the cold of the night sky
confuses itself with emptiness and fear
Just cry out
                    Lord God
                                     "You take away"
