out there by the sea
I never felt alone
Who was watching over me?
- - - - - - - - - - -
I emerged from a hazy path
was handed luggage and told
oh don't forget this, miss
walking along suddenly realized
where were my clothes?
fading it seems. .
[how vulnerable I became, more plain
reduced to my essence
could not change it and pressed on instead]
the small crowd dispersed
onward along the shore
I seemed to be empty-handed
except for this little fist
my clenched hand feared the water
as I walked on the aquamarine
don't know how I got so far
into the blue-green
walking on glass it seemed
perhaps crystal clear rock
reaching a transparent podium
facing the deep blue
[My heart shows it's purity in a dream
I walked on water to reach you
God-given hope, I reached the destination]
I have this here I asked
could you do what you will with it please
I've traveled this far road and I
fear for it's fragility
[forgotten wrongs,
innocently
found something within that would not crumble]
place it here ma'am
this is the last time you'll see
now our sculpture seems complete
out there by the sea
I never felt alone
Who was watching over me?
- for a moment your face was clearly seen
it seems a miracle just happened
oblivious little me
now there's nothing left but
a crystal platform bordering the coral reef
thought something should feel missing
reaching you, it is all total
Release . . . . . . .
I do not know who would believe
the story of you and me
now the magic's gone
but at least I set your soul free
or was it me?
